The LENZERHEIDE Ski resort

CHURWALDEN at 1200m is situated on The Northernmost section of The LENZERHEIDE Ski resort.

Located only 15 mins drive from Chur and the main A13 motorway Churwalden can be reached within an hour and a half from Zurich & Friedrichshafen airports by road or alternatively by train & bus connection from Zurich, via Chur.

They say that everything has two sides... In Lenzerheide, they are both sensational.!!! 155 km of well-kept ski runs lie at "snow guaranteed" altitudes from 1230 to 2865 meters above sea level.

The Lenzerheide Ski area is predominantly situated on the East & West facing slopes above the Lenzerheide plateau & beautiful alpine lake.
As you enter the resort from the North the Rothorn towers high to your left at 2900m. The Rothorn hosts a variety of well groomed pistes including the FIS Men’s World Cup Ski race on the Heimberg/Parpan section and is the place to be to enjoy the afternoon & evening sun.

It is also home to some of the regions best & most challenging Offpiste & Freeriding areas.

The Safari Tour that links to the neighbouring resorts of Arosa & Tschiertschen is a must for experienced skiers & snowboarders. However as The Tour is all off the marked pistes hiring a local guide is recommended as well as taking the full safety equipment.

Opposite The Rothorn lie the East facing slopes of Scalottas & The Staetzerhorn which offer a good variety of pistes that zig zag along its flanks with some great runs through the forests. The Staetzerhorn black run is mighty & The Staetz also offers floodlit skiing on Friday nights. Scalottas hosts the FIS Women’s World Cup downhill ski races & a quality restaurant on its summit.

And right on The Lodges doorstep is the local Churwalden Pradaschier Ski region. Often empty, with an ideal beginners area in the field at the base of the ski lifts. With a vertical difference of 1000 meters from top to bottom the area offers blue, red & black runs with some excellent off piste, tree runs & secret spots that rarely get ridden out.
